I'm approaching 10,000 visitors (according to Sitemeter), and will probably reach it sometime this week. That may not seem like a lot to some of you, but it's certainly more than I ever expected. Hell, when I started the blog, I thought I'd just write random comments as a way to break the monotony of writing multiple drafts of long papers. I didn't really think I'd even blog for this long (5 months), or even past the election. Anyway, I'd just like to thank everyone for visiting, especially Richard, from whom I've stolen just about every feature you see on this blog, Brandon, and Clark, who've all offered very helpful suggestions, and provided me with plenty of requests so that I always have something to blog about. I hope that at least one person has become more interested in cognitive science from reading this blog, and that two or three have even learned something.

I, for one, hope you keep posting. I studied philosophy as an undergraduate but sold my soul and became a lawyer. I check your blog regularly and enjoy your posts tremendously.

Coturnix, thanks. The picture is of my son. I should probably scan one of the ones from Christmas and put it up there. He does happen to be really smart for his age, though he hasn't quite learned to spell the word "synesthesia" yet.
I still owe you a post on differentiating the senses. I've actually been thinking about it a lot lately, because to me that problem seems to be at the heart of the problem of qualia. Synesthesia would be an interesting topic, too, especially as a sort of follow up to the series on art when I finally finish it.

STFU with your "I didn't really think I'd even blog for this long." You're a bad ass and you know it. For post topics, would you consider delving even deeper into time perception? Perhaps you could explain and assess research on how/why certain altered (psychedelic) states of consciousness yield such markedly different perceptions of time passage.
Feel free to ignore the suggestion, though. Don't, however, stop posting until you've spilled everything you know about cognitive science, philosophy, and politics. If you did, then us girls would have to start searching for a replacement; and, finding one with such cute little-boy-pictures and such interesting and informative information would be a hassle.

Haha... It's really true that I didn't think I'd blog this long. I don't know about me being a bad ass, though.
I really haven't read much on the neuroscience of psychedelic states, so I'm not sure I'd be able to post on their effects on time perception, but it does sound interesting. Maybe I'll do a little reading this weekend.
Oh, and he is cute, isn't he?
